Raquel Rodriguez Feared Retirement During WWE Hiatus Earlier This Year

The Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez thought of her career possibly being over during her lengthy absence from WWE TV earlier this year.

Rodriguez battled Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, which sees patients experience severe symptoms similar to allergic reactions (hives, blisters etc.)

On a recent edition of “The Takedown” podcast, Rodriguez was asked if the concept of retirement came to mind during this period. She said,

“Oh, yeah, 100%. I think that’s the position any athlete, fighter, or wrestler finds themselves in when they get injured or taken out. All of a sudden, you’re so busy—you’ve got Raw, SmackDown, you’re on the road, you’ve got interviews and appearances—and then it just stops.

“You do get that fear, like, ‘This has been my rock for years—my life, my everything. What am I going to do now?’ It felt like having a breakup with wrestling—but not fully. And I thought, ‘This might be harder than a real breakup.’ I don’t know, you know?”

Raquel was able to return from MCAS and made her comeback at WWE Bad Blood 2024 where she aided Liv Morgan.

Rodriguez will be a part of tonight’s Women’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 in Vancouver, Canada.
