R-Truth’s match against Damian Priest ended in unusual circumstances on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
The two stars faced off in singles competition, with the bout coming to an end after Truth delivered a Missile Dropkick to Priest. The referee subsequently checked on Truth before making the decision to stop the match.
Following the stoppage, Priest grabbed a steel chair from ringside and attempted to continue his assault on Truth. However, Axiom and Nathan Frazer of Fraxiom ran to the ring to make the save.
According to the WWE SmackDown rundown sheet, Priest was originally scheduled to defeat Truth (clean) before Fraxiom intervened to prevent a post-match beatdown. While Fraxiom still came out to make the save, Priest did not secure the planned victory, suggesting that Truth may have suffered a legitimate injury during the match.
No further details regarding Truth’s condition have been confirmed.
