Police Believe Tammy ‘Sunny’ Sytch Was Under The Influence During Fatal Car Crash

As we reported earlier today here on eWn, WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch was involved in a fatal car accident back on March 25th in Volusia County, Florida.

The accident took place at 8:28 PM EST on U.S. Highway 1 and claimed the life of a 75-year-old man.

According to the official police report, Sytch was driving a 2012 Mercedes and crashed into a 2013 Kia Sorento that was stopped at a red light. The Kia Sorento, which 75-year-old Julian Lafrancis Lasseter of Daytona Beach Shores was driving, was then pushed forward into the back of a 2011 GMC Yukon that was also stopped at the red light.

The report notes that two witnesses confirmed Sytch had been “driving at a high rate of speed” just prior to hitting the Kia.

Both Sytch and the driver of the Kia were transported to Halifax Health Medical Center. While Sytch was eventually released, Lafrancis Lasseter died from his injuries.

As far as the passengers of the Yukon are concerned, they complained of neck, back, side and head injuries but didn’t want to be transported to the hospital.

Additionally, police believe Sytch was under the influence of alcohol at the scene. They were able to obtain a search warrant and took a blood sample. The toxicology results of that are still pending. If they come back that she was under the influence, the Ormond Beach Police Department has announced that they will be filing additional criminal charges against Sytch. A spokesperson for the department told TMZ the following,

“OBPD has requested an expedited timeframe on the processing of these samples and the results will be made available as soon as the department receives them.”

Sytch has been arrested six times for DWI. That’s not a typo – six times! Her latest DWI arrest came back in 2019 in New Jersey. Additionally, she was arrested earlier this year for threatening to kill a man with a pair of scissors.
