As we reported earlier here on eWn, WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes suffered a “partially torn right pectoral tendon” during a brawl with Seth Rollins on last week’s episode of RAW.
Later in the week, Cody further aggravated the injury while training in the gym. It’s now become a complete tear and he’ll be undergoing surgery shortly.
Despite this, Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match still wound up taking place in the main event of the 2022 WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event.
For those unaware, a torn pec often results in severe bruising and that’s exactly what Rhodes is dealing with.
If you watched the pay-per-view event, that was not makeup that was applied to make it look worse than it is. In most cases, that’s what a torn pec looks like just days after the injury occurs. As you’d expect, the injury is extremely painful and he somehow was able to work through it prior to his upcoming surgery. That surgery is expected to keep him out of action for at least six months.
