NXT Halloween Havoc 2024 Highlights & Lowpoints? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

Last night was WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2024, which featured a title change, some gimmicks, some setup for the future and the first action of Zaria. Your mileage may vary on the pros and cons of this show, which is exactly what we’re going to talk about here.

My question for you today is “What were your highs and lows of NXT Halloween Havoc 2024?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

Easily my worst is the overwhelming sense of pointlessness that was a black cloud hanging over this event.

Why was there a ladder match gimmick that was changed to end in a pinfall? Why did Oba Femi get a rematch for the North American title, just to lose again? Was there a purpose for that? It surely wasn’t to make Tony D’Angelo look strong, since they went out of their way to say he only won due to the rest of the family, had them taken out, and they just interfered again. This proves that he cannot beat Femi without them, so he looks weak, Femi took a pin for nothing, and even if they wanted to have Femi come up short, he could have done that without the pin by having Tony D win a ladder match by climbing and retrieving the title…because this was a ladder match!!

Again, what’s the point of Ridge Holland taking out Andre Chase and the rest of Chase University, just to take Chase out again? I guess people are going to try to argue that he needed to win a more definitive match to set him up to challenge Trick Williams next, but I’d argue him beating Chase again means less than if he were to just win a No. 1 contender’s match.

Why was there a Falls Count Anywhere match that stayed almost entirely in the ring? Huh??

But as far as my highlights go, I’d say that there were two things that I’d rank at the highest. I’m not sure which one I’d put at the absolute top.

One would be how it makes perfect sense for Fatal Influence to go with the gauntlet concept, and that the strategy paid off. That’s a set of heels using their advantage in a logical way and not just falling short of their goal due to plot armor for the babyface. I also just flat out like that Fallon Henley won a title, since I’m a fan.

Second would be the setup of Bubba Ray Dudley. I’m assuming we’ll get he and Trick Williams in a tag team match against Ethan Page and Ridge Holland at the upcoming NXT show that will take place in the ECW Arena. If not, then maybe it’s just Holland against Dudley, which is still more interesting than if Holland were to just move on to try to fight Trick with no other pizazz added to it.
