The 2022 WWE Clash At The Castle pay-per-view event emanated from Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, but that wasn’t the original plan.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE actually contemplated holding the event at Wembley Stadium in London, the venue of SummerSlam 1992 and AEW All In 2023.
However, WWE was offered way more money to hold the event in Wales, so Clash At The Castle eventually took place in Cardiff.
WWE will hold its next London pay-per-view event at the O2 Arena for Money in the Bank, which is already sold out.
