Jon Moxley is your new AEW World Champion.
During Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Jon Moxley defeated Bryan Danielson in the main event of the show to capture the AEW World Championship. The championship was previously held by CM Punk, but it was later vacated after Punk was involved in a backstage fight with The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Ace Steel following the AEW All Out 2022 media scrum. All five of those men remain suspended from All Elite Wrestling pending the outcome of a third-party investigation.
The finish of the match came when Moxley made Danielson pass out with a bulldog choke.
This marks Moxley’s third reign with the AEW World Championship.
