The opening match for AEW Dynamite 250 was one for the ages as Will Ospreay battled it out with Maxwell Jacob Friedman for nearly the full one hour time limit. But with just two seconds left, MJF was able to just barely place his arm over Ospreay, scoring a pinfall that would win him the AEW International Championship.
MJF had been able to knock Ospreay down for the count with a shot from his Dynamite Diamond Ring, which he was able to utilize after referee Bryce Rembsurg had been temporarily incapacitated (due to MJF pushing Ospreay into him).
This puts Ospreay’s reign at 52 days—ranked fifth in the belt’s history.

Nyla Rose wasn’t as lucky, falling short of beating Mercedes Moné for the AEW TBS Championship later in the night. It was a hard-fought contest, but the former AEW women’s world champion was forced to tap out to the Bank Statement, after Mone had originally attempted a Lockjaw, just for Rose to bite her fingers. Clearly, that is Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.’s move.
Speaking of Baker, following the match, she would go after Moné, posing as a fan ringside wearing a Sting mask before jumping over the barricade and being stopped by security officials.
