Last week, Maxwell Jacob Friedman mentioned on AEW Dynamite (Fyter Fest) that he would have something to say to CMLL’s Místico at Summer Blockbuster, and he made good on that idea this week, coming out with The Hurt Syndicate after Místico had defeated Blake Christian in a match.
MJF badmouthed Místico, but in a rare instance of actually wanting to wrestle, put out a challenge for a match against the luchador at AEW Grand Slam Mexico for next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite (June 18).
In typical MJF fashion, he has threatened to unmask Místico, who he called “sloppy Sin Cara”, but in a strange twist, mentioned that he’d even “dust off” the American Championship for the bout.

At the time of this publication, it’s not yet been clarified if that means the AEW American Championship is reinstated, let alone if it’s on the line, or if he’s just going to bring that out and wear it to get some heat in Mexico.
