Matt Hardy Shares Tag-Team’s Goal To Surpass Legendary WWE Rivals

Matt and Jeff Hardy have accomplished plenty in wrestling, but the brothers still aim to surpass their legendary rivals, the Dudley Boyz.

On a recent edition of the “Insight” podcast, Matt discussed the goals he and his brother still wish to accomplish in wrestling. He said,

“It’s very important to Jeff and I to really cement our legacy as one of the best teams to ever do this. We want to keep adding to it … I’d like to have more [championships] than the Dudleys, just so they can’t say they’re the most decorated tag team of all time. I don’t know the exact number [of titles], but they racked them up whenever they were doing ECW.”

Over their careers, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley have held over 20 tag team titles, a fact that isn’t lost on Matt Hardy. He said,

“We’ve been introduced as the most popular tag team, so we’re in there. We’re very grateful for that, but it’s so funny because that’s always what Bubba and D-von throw out there — they’re the most decorated tag team. They still got us there.”

Matt and Jeff are currently in their third reign as TNA World Tag Team Champions. The pair also currently hold the 4th Rope Tag Team Championships.
