Wrestlers struggling to get over should take a long look in the mirror before they blame everyone else for their woes, Matt Cardona has shared.
In a post on Twitter, Cardona told wrestlers that it’s their fault they’re not over and told them to create the circumstances to get over.
“If you’re a pro wrestler and you’re not over. It’s your fault. Find a way. Create your own path.”
Cardona also included an interview with Chrissy Chaos in which he reflected on creating Z! True Long Island Story to win over audiences. He said,
“Back in the day, 2011, I was in WWE, but I didn’t like my spot on the card. I wanted to be a bigger Superstar and I knew there was a way to do that. And this is like the infancy of social media, and there was WWE YouTube shows, but nobody was doing it themselves.
“I had a flip camera, and I was like, the only way to get over… is to have a connection with them [the audience]… The audience connection was the most important thing. It [blending real lives with WWE characters] was gonna happen eventually, but I was just young enough to be using my real life.”
