Hulk Hogan’s promotional beer appearances in Ohio continue to cause headlines, as a man was detained by security on Thursday after protesting at the event.
Taking to Facebook, Talk Show host Lincoln Ware posted several videos showing a man by the name of Kurt Livingston protesting the appearance at a Kroger store in Liberty Township, Ohio.
WLWT is reporting that security working the event had Livingston on the ground and one was heard saying, “I got punched. We took him down and cuffed him. Swear to God, I turned around and got punched in the mouth.”
Livingston has since responded, saying he was handcuffed with a cut below his right eye. He stated,
“I asked the man to stop pushing me. I say you have no reason to put your hands on me. He continues to push me. When I tried to block his hand from pushing me, he took a swing. And the next thing you know, I was on the ground.”
Hogan was inside the store at the time of the incident and did not witness it first hand.
At an event in Medina, Ohio on Monday, Hogan made comments about wanting to body slam Democratic Party Presidential nominee Kamala Harris and also took shots at her heritage. At that same event, a 50-year-old woman was injured after she was hit by a thrown beer. While no charges were filed in that incident, her injury required nine stiches.
UPDATE: As we reported earlier this week here on eWn (see below), Hulk Hogan caused quite a stir at an event in Medina, Ohio where he was promoting his Real American Beer brand.
At the event, Hogan spoke about Democratic Party Presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ heritage, asking, “Is Kamala a chameleon? Is she Indian?” He followed this up by saying said “háu,” parodying the greeting of Native Americans.
ABC News 5 is now reporting that a woman ended up being injured during the event. According to the report, a 50-year-old woman was injured after she was hit by a thrown beer can that knocked her to the floor.
Medina Township police officers took a report of the incident, with multiple witnesses saying that Hogan was the person who threw the beer in question. With that being said, several others said it was a crew member for the event who was throwing beers from the stage like a “baseball pitch.” Due to the conflicting information, no one was arrested or charged. The woman wound up getting nine stitches.
ORIGINAL: Hulk Hogan has taken aim at Vice President Kamala Harris, and has thrown out the idea of slamming the Democrat nominee in this November’s election.
At a promotional event for his new beer at the Thirsty Cowboy in Medina, Ohio, Hogan wasted no time in bringing up politics to the crowd in attendance.
Hogan asked the crowd if he should bodyslam Harris or “drop the leg” on the Vice President, which the crowd seemed to be in favor of.
Hogan also called Harris a “chameleon” due to her being of Indian and Jamaican descent and said “háu,” parodying the greeting of Native Americans.
Native Americans were often regarded to as Indians, and still are by some to this day. Hogan quickly backtracked and said it was his alcohol talking and not him.
Republicans have said much about Harris’ race as the VP has embraced both sides of her heritage publicly during the ongoing political campaign.
Hogan, who is of Panamanian, Scottish, and French heritage, has publicly endorsed Donald Trump for this November’s presidential race.
The WWE Hall of Famer tore of his America shirt at the Republican National Convention to reveal a Trump shirt and referred to the former President as his hero.
Hogan was fired from WWE in 2015 after racist comments made by him came to light in which he used the N-word and admitted to being “a racist to a point.”
Earlier this year, a brand ambassador for Hogan’s Real American Beer alleged she was terminated from her contract after Hogan learned she is a black woman. Real American Beer denied the claim.
Hogan last appeared for WWE in January of this year to mark 40 years since Hulkamania’s ‘birth’ with his 1984 WWWF title win.
