Rey Destroller, a young luchador, has sadly passed away at the age of 22 after collapsing during a match he was a part of earlier this month.
Destroller collapsed during a RIOT event on March 2 and was said to be in grave condition and had suffered “severe brain damage” according to a report.
Destroller’s final match saw him team with his brother Black Spider Jr. After ducking a clothesline from Los Un-Mexicans, Destroller fell to the mat and his foot kicked in the air.
News of his death was confirmed by LuchaBlog, which reports that Destroller was placed on a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance after collapsing.
Members of Destroller’s family have blamed the injury on a bad fall from a headscissors earlier in the match and have claimed RIOT did not take care of him as they should have.
