Kenny Omega has a shot at the AEW World Championship at AEW Beach Break (next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite), but he has to risk it all to get it.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman retained the title this week in a bloody match with Mark Briscoe, being met with a challenge from Omega after the match. MJF declined and presented an opportunity for next week, provided Omega put all future title shots at this championship on the line.
This is the same stipulation MJF had against Cody Rhodes and “Hangman” Adam Page to rule them out of all title opportunities, which AEW has so far stuck to, making it a serious stipulation. If Omega loses, he will never get another chance to become AEW world champion.
Omega contemplated it over the show, ultimately accepting the challenge to prove that he can still have one more run.
