Johnny Gargano’s return on Monday’s WWE RAW episode has indicated that a recent Vince McMahon edict has been nixed.

Gargano made his surprise return, cut a passionate promo about why he’s back, and ended the segment by dropping Theory with a superkick.

Pwinsider.com reported today that many individuals within WWE indicated that Gargano being brought back without a name change seems to be a sign that McMahon’s name change edict is no longer in effect.

This past April, McMahon issued a memo to talent noting he didn’t want performers using their full real names, or names used before signing with WWE.

As a result, several wrestlers were given new names, including Pete Dunne, now Butch, Raquel Gonzalez, now Raquel Rodriguez, and WALTER, now Gunther.
