John Cena believes Dave Bautista is the greatest wrestler-turned-actor of all time.
During a recent appearance on the “Complex with Idris Elba” podcast, Cena praised his former WWE colleague for his impressive range and transformation as a performer. He said,
“I did enjoy No Holds Barred and They Live. So, Roddy Piper — maybe. Hulk Hogan, too. But I’ve got to give respect where it’s due – Dave Bautista.”
He continued, “The guy’s got range. He’s transformed his entire body and is taking on all kinds of roles. Keep an eye on what he’s about to do. What he’s already done is incredible. When it comes to wrestlers becoming actors with serious range — look, I’m just Dick Jones. That’s it. Dave’s got range.”
Cena’s new film Heads of State, co-starring Elba, is now streaming on Prime Video. Bautista’s next project, the action thriller Trap House, is set to hit theaters in November.
