Jey Uso has once again raised eyebrows with one of his social media posts, and this time, the former World Champion appears to be borrowing a popular catchphrase associated with WWE star AJ Lee.
Uso has developed a reputation for making bizarre posts online, whether he is responding to criticism from fans or making bold claims about his own status in the wrestling world. The former World Champion has frequently pushed back against those who question his abilities, with some of his recent interactions drawing plenty of attention.
At a recent WWE house show, Uso appeared to take issue with fans chanting “you can’t wrestle” at him. Things became even more chaotic when The Bloodline nearly walked away from a match before Seth Rollins, LA Knight, and Solo Sikoa helped get them back into the ring.
Uso has now sparked another wave of reactions with a recent Instagram post in which he declared himself to be his favorite wrestler’s favorite wrestler.
The wording immediately caught fans’ attention because it closely mirrors a catchphrase used by AJ Lee during her recent WWE return. Lee incorporated the phrase “I’m your favorite wrestler’s favorite wrestler” into her presentation, with fans embracing it during her comeback.
Lee’s use of the phrase has generally been well received because of her popularity and reputation as an accomplished performer. Uso, meanwhile, has faced considerably more criticism from fans regarding his in-ring work, making his decision to use similar wording particularly notable.
Whether Uso was intentionally referencing Lee or simply using the phrase himself, the post has already generated plenty of discussion among WWE fans.
