WWE fans are reacting after Jey Uso was apparently caught using the N-word during a recent appearance in Zilla Fatu’s vlog.
Jey Uso is part of the legendary Anoa’i wrestling dynasty, which includes names such as his father Rikishi, Yokozuna, Umaga, The Rock, Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and several others. With The Bloodline saga continuing to unfold on WWE programming, another member of the family recently entered the company when Zilla Fatu made his debut.
Fatu officially arrived in WWE during the August 11 episode of NXT, where he attacked both Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller. Following his debut, Fatu released a vlog documenting his journey toward his first appearance with WWE. At one point, he was joined by his cousin Jey Uso.
The reunion quickly drew attention for an entirely different reason, however. While the two were playing chess, Jey Uso apparently used the N-word while speaking to Fatu.
The moment sparked criticism from fans on Twitter, particularly because Jey is of Samoan descent. Jey is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi and Talisua Fuavai, and some fans questioned why he would use the racial slur despite not being Black.
Several fans claimed that they were surprised to finally hear Jey apparently say the word on camera, while others joked that they had already assumed he used it privately. One fan wrote,
“ladies and gentlemen they got him in 4k”
“I mean…..we knew this without knowing this”
“quick. everyone act surprised..”
