Internal Push In WWE For Major Commentary Team Changes

Pro wrestling fans appreciate commentary teams that are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and passionate about the business. With that in mind, there’s reportedly a growing internal push within WWE to bring Corey Graves back to a permanent spot on weekly main roster programming.

Graves has been filling in for Pat McAfee on WWE RAW on Netflix in recent weeks, joining Michael Cole at the commentary desk while McAfee takes time away from the company. His performances have impressed many backstage, with several insiders praising the energy, insight, and professionalism he brings to the broadcast.

His work alongside lucha libre legend Konnan at the WWE x AAA: Worlds Collide 2025 event on June 7 earned particularly strong praise, further fueling the sentiment that Graves belongs on one of WWE’s flagship shows.

WrestleVotes is reporting that while WWE leadership understands the mainstream value Pat McAfee provides due to his popularity outside the ring, there is a belief gaining traction that Graves is simply too good to be relegated to a secondary role. Some within the company have described him as “way too good and passionate” not to have a consistent presence on RAW or SmackDown.

For now, Graves remains a key voice on WWE NXT, calling the action each Tuesday night on The CW alongside Vic Joseph and Booker T.
