During this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk came face to face with Kevin Owens ahead of their title match.
During the segment, Punk referred to Owens as akin to ‘Endometriosis’, saying that “I’m calling out Oba Femi and I get endometriosis instead.”’
Endometriosis is a long-term condition which affects the lining of the womb outside of the uterus, including on the ovaries, bowel and pelvis.
The condition causes chronic pain in the sufferer as well as heavy bleeding and can lead to lifelong issues with fertility and trying to conceive.
Endometriosis does not lead to weight gain, but can lead to bloating and perceived weight gain, with some fans believing that Punk was mocking Owens’ size.
On social media, many took issue with Punk for making light of endometriosis, including people who have suffered from the condition.

Some fans compared Punk’s comments to Ricochet saying that he was glad a fan had Multiple Sclerosis, a comment that spawned outage.
Ricochet later apologized, though his comments later sparked a discussion as to why stars like MJF, who have said worse, aren’t criticized for their comments.
