Former WWE Superstar Jinder Mahal (Raj Dhesi) recently appeared on TMZ’s “Inside The Ring” podcast. During the chat, The Maharaja offered his thoughts on a potential return to the WWE. Mahal said,
“Yeah, absolutely. There would just need to be some sort of long-term vision rather than just getting signed and then, ‘Oh, we’ll figure you in.’ Because these contract cuts are happening as we’re hearing it in WWE, and if you’re not being used, I don’t want to be in that position where I’m stressed out, where you know that day you go online and releases start and you have so much anxiety. I don’t ever want to feel that again. I want a sense of direction, and obviously there’s no sense of safety in WWE. But when you have a sense of direction, you feel safer.”
Mahal On McMahon’s Reaction After Balor’s WWE Injury
Back in 2017, Jinder Mahal went one-on-one with Finn Balor on an episode of RAW. However, Balor’s injury scare led to an intense reaction from Vince McMahon backstage. During the same podcast, the former WWE World Champion said,
“It was one week before getting drafted to SmackDown, before I became WWE Champion. It was myself and Finn Balor in a singles match on Raw. I accidentally gave him a concussion. He was coming off the ropes, I gave him a forearm. We would do this spot every night on the live events as a hope spot. He would come off the ropes, I would give him a forearm.”
“But, just mistiming. Wrestling is a game of millimeters. If you’re a millimeter off, you could end your career and you could have a broken neck or a serious injury. I gave Finn Balor that concussion, felt terrible. When I came into Gorilla, Vince told me himself, ‘I should fire you.’ That would again change the trajectory of my life because a week later, I went to SmackDown. A week after that, I was number one contender, a month after I was WWE Champion.”
