Ex-WCW Valet – ‘Vince McMahon Tried To Sleep With Me’

Former WCW and WWF personality Missy Hyatt has reflected on her brief run with the WWF in 1987, explaining why she says she rejected an alleged advance from Vince McMahon and how she believes that decision impacted her role in the company before she departed for Jim Crockett Promotions, later known as WCW.

Speaking on a recent edition of the “Talk Is Jericho” podcast, Hyatt revisited her time in the promotion and claimed that plans for her “Missy’s Manor” interview segment were scrapped after the alleged incident. According to Hyatt, she was instead asked to become one of the company’s “Federettes,” whose job was to collect wrestlers’ entrance jackets at ringside.

When Chris Jericho joked about the role, Hyatt admitted that she was unhappy with both the assignment and the attire she was expected to wear. She said,

“They had brought panty hose for me… I was like, ‘Not wearing that.’ Like that was so degrading to me. You want me to take a ring jacket? I thought that was just so beneath me.”

“I should have done it. And I should have slept with him too because he tried and I wouldn’t. But I was engaged, you know… I do have a little bit of honor.”

Hyatt said she was engaged to fellow wrestler “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert during her WWF tenure and cited that as the reason she turned down the alleged advance.

Her remarks come after previous public comments she made following the civil lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, who has accused McMahon of sex trafficking and sexual assault. Hyatt has previously stated that she contacted Grant’s legal team to discuss what she described as her own alleged experience from 1987 and offered to testify regarding what she believes was a long-standing pattern of behavior. McMahon has denied Grant’s allegations and has consistently denied allegations of sexual misconduct.

After leaving the WWF, Hyatt said her career took a positive turn when she joined Jim Crockett Promotions, where she was given a prominent on-screen role alongside Jim Ross. She said,

“What really happened was Jim Ross gave me the opportunity to be a co-host with him. I think… my best stuff I ever did was with my ‘Missy Does the Mail’ segments.”

Hyatt has also previously said she left the WWF because she no longer trusted the environment.
