Ethan Page – ‘Modern Wrestlers Have Become Too Sensitive’

Ethan Page has a blunt opinion about how some wrestlers handle criticism from fans online, and he believes the current generation has become too sensitive.

During a recent appearance on the “Inside the Ring” podcast, Page was asked about trust within today’s wrestling locker rooms. The discussion followed comments about the egos that exist throughout WWE, with Page acknowledging that every wrestler has one while suggesting that he is more comfortable admitting it than most.

However, Page doesn’t necessarily believe wrestlers are less trustworthy than they were in previous generations. In fact, he argued that trusting people backstage could potentially be safer now than it was years ago. He said,

His bigger criticism was directed toward how wrestlers respond to fans on social media. He said,

“I think trusting people now is probably safer than back in the day, but more people are a lot softer now.”

“A lot softer? Yeah, for sure. Oh my God. Yeah. What? Wrestlers get upset when fans tweet them. They’re responding.”

“What are you responding to fans for? What the hell?”

“Why don’t you respond to the ones that compliment you? Only the ones that hurt your feelings, that tell you the truth, are you the one you’re giving them attention?”
