On a recent edition of his “Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, Matt recalled Ethan Page asking his permission to use the Twist of Fate in WWE. He said,

“He texted me that day just like out of respect like ‘Hey, I’m thinking about doing this and maybe doing the Twist in my match.’ I said ‘Yeah, of course man, go nuts. I’m totally happy with you doing it.’

“Because even at the end of the day the way it works if someone uses it and they don’t beat them, then I just do it better. It works for me every time. I was cool with that and I wish nothing but the best for him.”

Page used the signature Hardy Boyz move during his recent NXT North American Championship match with Tony D’Angelo which The Don won.

On the podcast, Hardy added that he’s “so proud” of Page for “living his dream” in WWE after “many people” doubted him in AEW.

Page debuted in WWE earlier this year and broke the record for the quickest rise from debut to NXT Champion, winning the title in just 40 days.

Hardy also left AEW this year and has since returned to TNA Wrestling, where he and Jeff currently hold the TNA World Tag Team Championships.
