Drew McIntyre – ‘I’m The Only Person Acting Like A Champion And Elevating Talent’

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre is slated to take place at Saturday’s WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 pay-per-view event. The Judgment Day will be barred from ringside during this bout.

While speaking with the Indian Times, McIntyre commented on his current status in WWE. He said,

“WrestleMania wasn’t ideal. I made my plan clear. People want to make their jokes, but I said I was going to win the title and celebrate with my friends, family, and wife, and then I was going to rub the title in CM Punk’s stupid face because I can’t stand him. We have history that people do not know about yet, maybe I’ll go into details down the line, but he hurt me when I was younger, personally and professionally. He’s a genuinely terrible person. If you take five minutes to do the research online, you’ll see that he’s always been a terrible person. Even recently. I’m not lying. I said what I was going to do and I put myself in striking distance to give him a chance to hit me to see what kind of man he was. He did nothing. He waited until my back was turned like a coward, then he took my legs out from under me, which fractured my elbow on the table, then he took his metal brace and bashed me in the face. Like a coward, he took me out. Then, like vulture, an evil vulture, Damian Priest came running down there to capitalize on it and stole the World Title. I had it for five minutes and 46 seconds, and once again, everyone wants to make their jokes, including Priest and Punk. That five minutes and 46 seconds has been way more talked about and way more popular online and TV than Damian Priest’s entire title reign so far. I’m the one that has been keeping Punk relevant, so he should be sending me thank you cards every day. One person is holding the show together and acting like a champion and elevating everyone around them, it’s this guy, the uncrowned champion. I’ll be crowned soon.”
