Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa remain on top of the tag team division of Friday Night SmackDown by successfully retaining their WWE Tag Team Championships over The Motor City Machine Guns in a 2-out-of-3 falls match at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 premium live event.
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin won the right to challenge #DIY by running through a mini-tournament of the tag team division on SmackDown (against teams like Pretty Deadly and Los Garza) and nearly regained the titles today, scoring the second fall of the match.
What cost them getting the third was interference from The Street Profits, who not only attacked MCMG, but went after Gargano and Ciampa after the match, too, to make a statement and pose with the title belts.
