Chelsea Green was in action on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. She teamed up with Tiffany Stratton and lost to Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. During the match, Green suffered a broken orbital bone.
In a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez revealed how and when Green sustained the injury on SmackDown. He noted,
“They did the match and everything was going along as it should, and then at the very end Fatal Influence hit Chelsea with their finish. It looked on TV like everything was fine, but in fact everything was not fine. Lainey fell on Chelsea’s head in doing the move, and Chelsea broke her orbital bone.”
“It was one of those finishes where it looked like nothing went wrong, but somebody got badly injured. I have heard people saying within wrestling that this is not a good finish anyway, so we’ll see if they end up getting a new finish.”
Green Comments On Her WWE Women’s Championship Win
At SummerSlam 2026 (Night Two), Green captured the Interim WWE Women’s Title. She emerged victorious over Stratton, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill and Lash Legend in a Ladder Match.
During an interview with XTU Philadelphia, Green opened up about her title win and the years of hard work she put in. The WWE Women’s Champion said,
“It has been surreal. I feel like the moment that I grabbed the title and pulled it down, and the crowd went nuts and kind of everything changed for me. It’s just been 13 years in the making. Thirteen years of blood, sweat, tears, of missing funerals and weddings and birthdays and all sorts of things. And it just it feels so good, because everything it was worth it.”
“So you know, I have been doing this now for 13 years, and I truly — I’ve got very few days off in my career. It’s a lot of sacrifice. But like anything, if you if you love it, if you’re passionate about it, it doesn’t hurt so bad.”
“It does [feel rewarding to win the title]. And it truly does feel like everything happened at the perfect time in Minnesota, at SummerSlam, with my family ringside and my husband ringside. I could not have asked for a better full circle moment. If I were to close the book that is WWE, or that is professional wrestling or whatever it is, I would be so happy doing that today because of this moment.”
