Dave Bautista’s inaugural movie of 2023, “Knock at the Cabin,” premiered in New York City at the Rose Hall on January 30th, and was theatrically released in the United States on February 3rd by Universal Pictures.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Batista talked about his goal of earning respect in Hollywood while discussing his role in the apocalyptic psychological horror film. You can check out some highlights from the interview below:
On his role in Knock at the Cabin being a different role for him: “It’s just a different performance for me… I’ve been saying all these years that I wanted to be an actor and not a movie star, I could care less about that. And this was kind of my real chance to prove it, you know, in a leading role.”
Wanting to earn respect as an actor: “I have a lot of anxiety about it because I have to — you know, now I’m about to be judged, but I’ve been saying it all these years, I just wanted to be respected as an actor.”
Why he tries to stay away from reading reviews: “I’ve read a couple bad ones that really stuck with me and I took personally. I think it’s always easier, you know, to absorb those negative things and they kind of stick with you.”
Batista wrestled his final WWE match against Evolution stablemate Triple H at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.
