Cody Rhodes Responds To Allegations About WWE Locker Room’s Silence On Vince McMahon Lawsuit

Vince McMahon relinquished his role as CEO and Chairman of WWE in 2022 following reports of hush-money allegations.

Although McMahon remained involved in and influenced the creative process, he departed the company in September after the WWE-UFC merger, when he assumed the role of Executive Chairman of TKO.

The 78-year-old billionaire ultimately resigned from TKO earlier this year following severe allegations made by former WWE employee Janel Grant.

Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, accusing McMahon of sex trafficking, rape, and more.

During the post-Bash In Berlin media scrum, Cody Rhodes was asked about his awareness of the McMahon-Grant lawsuit and whether the locker room was adequately informed. He was also questioned why the WWE locker room has been so quiet about the lawsuit.

Rhodes clarified that the Superstars’ focus is on delivering excellent performances for the fans, telling compelling stories, and having solid matches night after night.

Regarding the lawsuit, most wrestlers are learning about it at the same time as everyone else, including how the situation will be resolved.

The American Nightmare stressed that the silence is not intentional but reflects their dedication to their day-to-day responsibilities in WWE.

Cody said, ”In terms of the locker room being quiet or silent it may be, I don’t think that’s a matter of belief vs non-belief, I think it’s strictly speaking, we want to be doing what we were doing out there and the focus and attention it takes for 13,149 people to have a great story and match and do that every single night has left most of us where we’re finding the information out just as you are. And that includes the resolution of this information in terms of what happened, how it happened and how justice comes about, whatever it may be. I would look at it as an active attempt to the locker room to be silent in the sense, we just are doing what we do day to day WWE business.”

Cody defeated Kevin Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Saturday’s WWE Bash In Berlin 2024 pay-per-view event.
