During Saturday night’s WrestleMania 41 (Night One) pay-per-view event, Paul Heyman shocked the world by betraying both CM Punk and Roman Reigns, siding with Seth Rollins and helping The Visionary emerge victorious in the Triple Threat main event.
During an interview with Daniel Cormier of ESPN, post-WrestleMania 41, Punk weighed in on his crushing defeat and Heyman’s betrayal.
On Paul Heyman: “Me main eventing WrestleMania was important to me and I needed to share it with somebody who got me there, somebody who never gave up on me. Now, he’s turned on me.”
On headlining WrestleMania 41: “I was a crying baby, literally, the whole day. I had to run out of Gorilla when they started playing the video package. I saw 26 year old me. I am nothing without the fans. The equity, the years I put into this, the time away. Fighting in the UFC, doing all these other things and then coming back and feeling, ‘I’m home.’ Now, I’m ready for the crown and ready for the responsibility to main event my first WrestleMania and when I say that, I say it because it’s my first, it’s not the last.”
On Dominik Mysterio: “It’s the ironic reaction is what that is because he’s a little snake. He’s a little piece of garbage. You know it too. (DC says he was cheering for Dominik) Of course you were because you’re like, ‘oh, I want to be funny and contrarian and I want to cheer for the guy that has no redeeming qualities whatsoever’. But now he’s the Intercontinental Champion. Well, my hat’s off to him. I don’t know what’s going on with me next. Maybe I’ll go after Dominik Mysterio. Man, every time I see him, I still see that little 8, 10-year-old little brat. You know what I mean? I wanted to punch him in the face when he was 10. Now I get to legally.”
At Sunday night’s WrestleMania 41 (Night Two) pay-per-view event, Logan Paul defeated AJ Styles in a singles match.
During a backstage digital exclusive, Paul teased what’s next for him in WWE.
He said, “Whatever I want, whoever I want. This company knows I’m the money. This company knows I’m the best. This company knows I’m the future. I’ll answer any call. I’ll wrestle any match, anytime, anywhere, against anyone they wanna present in front of me. Everyone that is across the ring from me in that squared circle becomes a victim. I’m the best, I’ll win anything and continue my WrestleMania winning streak.”
