CM Punk believes that Undisputed AEW World Champion Jon Moxley followed a similar path in both WWE and AEW.

Both men worked for WWE, becoming triple-crown champions for the promotion, both leaving and eventually joining AEW.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Punk addressed the similarities between the two.

“I think Moxley is a guy who followed in my footsteps. He was a guy that was never really given the ball [in WWE].

“When he was, it was taken away from him, time and time again, for other stars.”

On this week’s Dynamite, Moxley squashed Punk to unify the Liminal and Interim AEW World Championships.

Despite the title change, Moxley Vs. Punk is expected to headline All Out 2022 next Sunday.
