CM Punk Involved In Another Backstage Altercation

CM Punk has once again found himself at the center of a backstage confrontation, although this time it appears to have happened within WWE.

The Undisputed WWE Champion is no stranger to backstage altercations. During his AEW run, Punk was involved in the infamous backstage incident following his post-All Out media scrum, when Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks confronted him over his comments. The situation ultimately resulted in multiple suspensions.

Punk was later involved in another backstage confrontation with Jack Perry surrounding their disagreement over the use of real glass. That incident was eventually shown publicly after AEW President Tony Khan released footage of the encounter.

Since returning to WWE in 2023, however, Punk’s run has largely been free of similar controversies. He has repaired several relationships within the company and gone on to capture three World Championships.

Punk recently competed at an NXT live event, where he was powerbombed by a female WWE star. Following the match, footage showed Waller confronting Punk backstage. The exchange quickly became heated.

Waller told Punk that if he planned on showing up in NXT again, he needed to call him first. Punk questioned whether Waller was being serious, prompting the Australian star to declare that WWE NXT was his house and threatened to come after the Undisputed WWE Championship.

The situation escalated to the point that security had to intervene, with Waller eventually leaving the area.

Interestingly, WWE initially uploaded footage of the confrontation to its social media accounts before deleting it. The decision has raised questions about whether the segment was uploaded prematurely or whether the company simply decided that it did not want the footage available to fans.

Obviously, this one is all a work and it may play out on WWE NXT television.
