CM Punk Could Quit AEW After Police Involved With All Out Media Scrum Fight

More details have come to light about the backstage fight following AEW All Out 2022 and their post-show media scrum.

During the press conference, new AEW World Champion CM Punk lashed out at AEW EVPs Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, former best friend Colt Cabana and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.

Punk was also involved in a fight after the All Out media scrum, where he attacked Matt Jackson.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan A lverez and Dave Meltzer confirmed that the comments made by Punk and the fight are not a work.

Meltzer suggested that Punk threw multiple punches at Jackson, and that neutral parties present blame Punk as the instigator.

The other side is that the Young Bucks caused a commotion and that Punk and his trainer Ace Steel were defending themselves.

Legal action is currently taking place and both Meltzer and Alverez confirmed that police were involved.

Both backed up reports that Ace Steel threw a chair that hit Nick Jackson in the eye, and that he was also biting Kenny Omega.

Meltzer suggested that AEW will not suspend anyone involved, as all but Steel are top names in the company.

He also compared the situation to Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, who were at odds in real life during the mid to late 1990s.

Both Meltzer and Alverez suggested that something like this had been brewing, following reports of conflict within AEW.

Meltzer stated that Punk may feel untouchable as the biggest star in AEW (at least as he sees himself) and the reigning AEW World Champion.

It was added that Punk could walk away from AEW if Steel is fired, as he believes Steel was defending him.

In addition to being Punk’s trainer, Steel is a producer for AEW, though has appeared on screen in recent weeks for segments with Punk ahead of All Out.

It is expected that Steel will face a punishment, including possible termination, for attacking Jackson and Omega.

AEW President Tony Khan has not publicly commented on the matter at this time.
