Chelsea Green Is On Cloud Nine After WWE US Title Win, Michin Warns New Champion

Michin failed to make history at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXVII.

Michin reached the finals of the WWE Women’s United States Championship tournament but couldn’t defeat Chelsea Green, who ultimately became the inaugural champion.

In a post-match WWE digital exclusive interview, Michin sent a chilling warning to Green.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On her defeat: “Jackie, growing up, my daddy told me I had to work twice as hard to get half of what everybody else has, and that continues to this day. Now Chelsea, you brought your big one today. Yeah, you won the title, but that just means that you have a large target on your back. I promise you, you are going to have to sleep with one eye open. Every time you come into the room, you have to check every single corner because, baby, I am not going to stop until I get that title. I was this close and you think I’m just going to walk away from it? Nah. I’m not done until I get mines. Have a day.”

On if she takes any pride in this moment: “Win or lose, we all to get to be a part of history, right? So we can’t be mad at that. I am not mad at that. I’m gonna be in the history books from here on out. Would’ve been better if I would’ve won, but you know what? That just gives me more drive to go after it and make sure that I am going to be hashtag #AndNew Women’s US Champion.”

Chelsea Green is be the happiest person on the planet after making history at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXVII.

Green defeated Michin to win the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Title at Saturday’s event, and she took to Twitter to celebrate her victory.

Green wrote, “Woke up as 1st ever @WWE Women’s United States Champion. So what’s first on the agenda? I’m going to @Disneyland !!!!”

She later added, “Karma is the @WWE title on the screen, coming straight home to me.”

Piper Niven chimed in, “The definition of hard work and determination RED WHITE AND GREEN BABY! Long may she reign”

Chelsea Green also discussed her title win in a post-match WWE digital exclusive interview, and you can check out some highlights below:

On not being surprised by her victory: “Well Byron, I knew this was going to happen, so I know you’re surprised and that’s so cute, but I’m not. I’ve been doing this for ten years, and I worked my entire life to be an overnight success. And this is my time, this is my time. Red, white, and Green! Say it with me, Byron! Red, white, and Green.”

On going in the history books as the first champion: “I would say, ‘Duh.’ I would say duh. I’m in the history books where I belong. I should’ve been there three years ago, but I was released. I should’ve been there 2015, but I wasn’t hired. So, now’s the time, Byron. Now’s the freaking time! Anything else?”

On what her title reign looks like: “It looks like I’m going to Disneyland tomorrow, so I’ve got to hop on the plane. So can we wrap this up?”
