Bryan Danielson continues his quest to “go out on top” with the Men’s Owen Hart Cup as he defeated Shingo Takagi by submission at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door III.

To recap what’s already gone down in the bracket, Danielson’s fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Claudio Castagnoli lost to PAC, who is on his own path to regain momentum. Those two will clash at next week’s AEW Dynamite “Beach Break” special. The winner of that will go on to the finals on July 10, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

On the opposite end of the bracket, to determine who will stand opposite them in the finale of the tournament, will depend on two matches still to come. Jay White had defeated Rey Fenix in the first round, but his semifinals opponent has yet to be determined as Jeff Jarrett will be facing a special Wild Card entrant picked by The Young Bucks. White and Jarrett/Wild Card will fight on the July 6th edition of Collision.
