A major tag team is reportedly on its way to All Elite Wrestling.
Fightful Select has confirmed that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, formerly known together as The New Day, are expected to join AEW. Barring an unforeseen change, the longtime WWE stars are planned to sign with the company if they have not already done so.
The duo are also scheduled to appear at AEW All In: London 2026, where they are expected to team with Swerve Strickland in the Trios Royal Roulette. Kingston and Woods are currently slated to serve as the event’s wild card team.
Their arrival in AEW will also come with a new identity, as the pair are set to receive a new team name. However, the new name has not yet been revealed.
While their move to AEW has been expected for some time, the deal itself reportedly came together relatively recently. Kingston and Woods were not under contract with AEW as recently as two weeks ago. Discussions began afterward, ultimately leading to an agreement being reached within the past couple of weeks.
More details on their AEW debut and new team identity are expected to emerge following AEW All In: London 2026.
