WWE started releasing NXT talent on Friday afternoon.
So far to be let go by WWE are Malcolm Bivens, Dakota Kai, according to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp.
More stars are expected to be released this afternoon. The previous talent cuts happened in January.
WrestlingNews.co reports that there was actually talk that these releases were expected a couple of weeks ago but those plans were delayed.
Kai had been with the company for years and was considered to be one of the best workers on the NXT brand. She was recently reunited with Raquel Gonzalez where they won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, but held them for a few days until they dropped them. Raquel has since been called up to the main roster.
Bivens had been the manager of Diamond Mine and was highly praised for his managerial work.
Fightful has learned that Malcolm Bivens has been released by WWE. The company had asked him to re-sign in February, and he’d made it clear he didn’t want to do so.
