WWE is holding tryouts in Hawaii to find its next batch of stars, but Triple H claims that muscles and speed alone will not get anyone signed.
During a recent interview with “KHON2 News,” WWE’s Chief Content Officer explained that when it comes to standing out from the pack, charisma matters more than anything else.
Talking about the upcoming Hawaii tryout, Triple H first admitted that athleticism and drive still count for something. He then made it clear those traits are not what tips the scale. He said that charisma runs the wrestling business, and WWE wants people who feel different the moment they walk into a room.
According to Triple H, the company looks for recruits who connect with others naturally and grab attention without even trying. He is not interested in someone who blends in like an average person next door, but instead, he wants larger-than-life personalities who make crowds notice them instantly.
Triple H further confirmed WWE plans to push every recruit hard and test how much they can truly handle. While athletic skill helps, if a performer cannot capture a crowd’s attention, that talent alone will not carry them far. For Triple H, being a star before the microphone even shows up matters most.
Blake Monroe has appeared on WWE SmackDown for nearly five months without an official match, and she knows fans are running out of patience.
During a recent interview with SPORF, Monroe admitted that people expect things to move faster than they should, comparing the wait to rushing a first date. According to her, nobody expects everything to happen right away when they meet someone new, so why expect it here.
Monroe believes that some of the frustration comes from how closely fans have followed her rise.
She built her career across the independent circuit, Japan, AEW, and NXT before landing on the main roster, so her fans feel invested and want to see her succeed immediately. So, while Blake understands the worry, she trusts that WWE is focused on timing rather than speed. She said,
“People are very impatient, have you guys never taken time and care with anything? When you’re dating a woman, what do you think is going to happen on the first date? I’m betting it doesn’t happen, whatever you’re thinking. You have to wait for a good thing. I have always documented my journey very well so I have a strong fanbase that have seen me go from the independent scene to Japan to America, now to NXT and WWE. So they’re so invested in me and want me to do well. People can get nervous or scared and I understand that, but you have to have patience. Timing is everything. But I think that’s why people are invested in me, because they know me.”
Even without an official match, Monroe has not been sitting quietly backstage. Her rivalry with Giulia has already turned physical more than once, including a brutal attack on September 4, when Giulia blindsided her during an interview and hit the Arrivederci on the ramp. Monroe later shared photos showing scratches and a wrapped jaw from the incident.
