The New Day has appeared for many shows outside of WWE, and Xavier Woods recently spoke with TV Insider to discuss his personal favorite non-wrestling appearances. He said,
“Definitely Wheel of Fortune. That was a crazy huge one for me because it was something my parents watched, even Grandma. I just heard them talk about it and how excited they were about me doing it. That was top for me.” In terms of what The New Day have done as a group, Woods cited Nickelodeon’s “Double Dare” as the one he remembers most fondly, but nothing could compare to when the former WWE Tag Team Champions all starred in the same movie together.”
He continued, “We also did this Netflix movie called Escape the Undertaker. It’s the three of us at his house trying to steal his urn essentially and we are now mad he is trying to catch us. Doing stuff like that has been awesome, especially it’s not something you think about when you’re a kid and want to be a WWE superstar. When you’re six, you just think about winning a title, the music, pyro, and travel everywhere. Then you get into it, and I realize I wanted the brotherhood. That brotherhood really led me to doing a lot of things I don’t know if I would had the chance to do otherwise.”
Back in 2022, Baron Corbin was allied with JBL.
During a recent appearance on SI’s “The Takedown” podcast, Corbin explained why the storyline didn’t click.

On the partnership with JBL: “The tides changed when everything was changing in WWE, and we went the JBL route, and I think that, you know, it struggled. I can’t put my finger on why it struggled. I think that people, and John and myself, wanted more out of like … I wanted John to be able to, like, decapitate a few people, and it was, you know, it’s a process of getting him back in the ring and getting him doing that. He kind of just became like a mouthpiece for me, an introduction, you know, kind of thing, where he would get the crowd all riled up for me. But I think we all, kind of, just wanted a little bit more from that and it just didn’t click. I mean… I’ll take the fall for it. I’m happy to do that because JBL’s one of the greatest of all time, especially one of the greatest heels of all time, and sometimes things just don’t click.”
On when he thought the partnership would be a success: “But there was like a moment where he hit Bobby Lashley in one of our matches and you heard the crowd [go] like ‘boom,’ and I like [thought], ‘That’s it, that’s what we want more of.”
