At Saturday night’s WWE SummerSlam 2024 pay-per-view event, LA Knight defeated Logan Paul to capture the United States Championship. The loss came in Paul’s hometown of Cleveland, OH.

Fightful Select is reporting that Paul’s nasty bump during the superplex spot off the top rope was not planned. It is said that Paul is “doing okay” after the scary bump.

Additionally, it was noted that talks had picked up internally that Paul would be dropping the title after some controversial comments he made regarding Olympic boxer Imane Khelif. While Paul retracted his original statement, the damage had already been done.

Paul originally tweeted, “This is the purest form of evil unfolding right before your eyes. A man was allowed to beat up a woman on a global stage, crushing her life’s dream while fighting for her deceased father. This delusion must end.”

It is said that the recent views Paul expressed on social media do not represent the beliefs of WWE. Additionally, it was added that WWE has been largely quiet regarding Paul’s comments.

It’s worth noting that Triple H heavily praised Logan Paul during Saturday night’s post-show media scrum and noted that he’s “a little banged up.”
