Backstage Update On Fan Throwing Bottle At John Cena – Work Or Shoot?

During the closing segment of Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, John Cena had a bottle thrown at him while delivering a promo.

The fan responsible was immediately removed from the arena by security. The individual was quickly identified, as they were seated at ringside — a moment captured in several fan videos circulating online (see below).

Pwinsider is reporting that WWE officials have confirmed that the incident was not part of the script or to promote a beer brand. Cena handled the situation on the fly, improvising after the bottle landed in the ring.
