Backstage News On Why The Good Brothers, Giovanni Vinci, & Others Were Released

As we previously reported here on eWn, WWE recently released several talents, including The Good Brothers, Sonya Deville, Blair Davenport, and more.

Fightful Select is reporting that Karl Anderson is expected to be out of action for 3-6 months before he can be cleared for action. Despite the setback, he is said to be in good spirits. WWE releasing talent while they are injured is reportedly an unusual move for the company.

While she was originally considered for a role alongside Piper Niven and Chelsea Green, Blair Davenport was brought to TV and pitched the idea. A secret service-themed outfit had even been prepared for her before her release, though it was ultimately delayed. This all happened around the time of the 2025 Royal Rumble. Despite earlier reports suggesting WWE wanted to use her more, Davenport hadn’t been included in plans as of November, December, and early January.

Some within WWE had high hopes for Giovanni Vinci, especially after the vignettes promoting him last year. However, there is speculation that his position on the card was lowered as WWE knew he wouldn’t be brought back.

There is no clear confirmation regarding whether Alba Fyre has been released, though there are claims that Isla Dawn was let go.

According to those close to the group, AOP and manager Paul Ellering intend to continue performing despite their release from WWE.

And finally, some WWE NXT sources believe that these recent releases could be part of a larger strategy to call up several new talents to the main roster later this year.
