Backstage AEW Injury Updates On Jay White & Orange Cassidy, Travel Issues At AEW Dynamite

Jay White is currently out of action with a broken hand.

Orange Cassidy is also sidelined due to a torn pectoral muscle.

There were widespread travel issues affecting talent ahead of this week’s AEW Dynamite TV tapings.

Shelton Benjamin was the only one who missed the show, arriving too late despite traveling all day.

On this week’s AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir faced off against Swerve Strickland and Willow Nightingale in the opening match. Strickland and Nightingale secured the win, but Moxley shocked fans by hitting Nightingale with a Death Rider after the bell.

Bishop Dyer discussed the match on a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, praising AEW for its storytelling and bold choices, saying he appreciated how the segment unfolded and the direction the company is taking. He said,

“First off, I love when a show starts with a match like that, with a high-profile match. With so many times we get a seg one promo, things like that, but I like getting straight to some action.”

He continued, “Obviously they’re setting the table for this weekend, but there are a lot of things that went down in that match. There was obviously the shock at the end where Mox hit Willow, took her out. That’s what we’re going to talk about from that because that was the shock moment. That was something you don’t see very often. And when done right, it has a great effect.”
