Andrade – ‘Charlotte Is Amazing – The Problem Was Me’

Andrade believes that fans are getting a much more authentic version of him these days, and he says his divorce from Charlotte Flair played a major role in that change.

During a recent interview with “Latin Lover,” Andrade was told that he appears noticeably more relaxed and comfortable than he did in the past. The former WWE star agreed, explaining that his divorce prompted him to think differently about how much of his natural personality he wanted to bring into his wrestling character.

According to Andrade, part of that personality comes from embracing the outgoing nature he associates with being Latino. He said,

“Now, about feeling more loose, like you said, that you see me that way… The truth is, after I got divorced, I started thinking, ‘Well, what is a Latino?’ With respect. You’re Latin Lover, right? What is a Latino? He’s happy, he’s lively, he’s got that vibe. If there’s a girl there, it’s like, ‘Hey, that dress looks good on you,’ little things like that, joking around, between friends.”

“That’s how I am. I didn’t do it out of respect for my wife.”

“Out of respect for my wife, more than anything. Now the divorce happened and I said, ‘Now I can be myself.’”

“I loosened up. I’m who I am. Now I can grab the referee and give her a little kiss and everything. That’s how I am. That’s really how I am.”

“She is amazing. Charlotte is amazing. She’s an amazing woman and an amazing person. She was an amazing wife. I lost her. She did not lose me. It was a simple divorce, and I said that, yeah. But the problem was not her. The problem was me.”
