AJ Styles References AEW On WWE SmackDown – Here’s How Cody Rhodes Responded

As you’d expect, the feud between AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes intensified on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

On Friday night, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes came out to the ring to cut a promo to hype his “I Quit” match with the Phenomenal One at WWE Cash at the Castle 2024.

Before Rhodes could get very far, Styles came out to reveal that the American Nightmare is pretty familiar with “quitting.” Styles specifically name-dropped NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling) and ROH (Ring Of Honor), as well as reminding Cody that he helped start a company but then decided to “quit” it. Of course, this is a clear reference to AEW (All Elite Wrestling).

Rhodes then responded by saying that he’s never been “afraid to walk away to chase something greater.”

The segment ended with Styles telling Cody that he “quit on himself,” and he’s planning on making him do the same thing at Saturday’s WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland pay-per-view event.
