AJ Lee revealed that she once only hoped WWE would grow for younger talent, but she never thought she would get to see that change firsthand.

At Fanatics Fest in New York City, Lee compared her feelings to a graduating senior wishing younger students better teachers, without expecting to benefit personally.

She noted that returning to WWE to see the new class was a wonderful surprise. Lee said,

“Did I ever think I was gonna come back? Oh, no. I think I was kind of wrap stuff up in such a perfect bow, it just felt like I didn’t wanna tarnish that in a way and it felt so completed, I didn’t feel like I had anything left to do, and then seeing how the business evolved, I kind of saw it, like, when you’re a senior in high school and you graduate, you’re like, ‘I hope those freshmen have better teachers. I hope they get a field…’ You don’t expect it for you. So it was just an extra wonderful surprise and a treat to be like, ‘Oh! I get to hang out with this new class? That’s awesome.’”

Je’Von Evans knew pro wrestling was his future from the first time he watched it. The 22-year-old WWE RAW star began training at age 13 and signed with WWE at 19.

Evans said hard work made his dream possible. He also admitted he feels nervous before matches because anything can happen inside the ring.

During a recent interview with ABC12, Evans said,

“Yeah, for sure. Since I saw it, it was just, I feel like I wanna do this for the rest of my life. I started grinding and training at 13 years old, and then I got signed to WWE at 19 years old, so hard work pays off.”

“I’m nervous. I don’t wanna get hurt. Anything can happen in the ring. So every time I’m in the ring, I’m always like, all right. Let’s see what happens.”
