Athena revealed that she suffered an asthma attack during her ROH Women’s World Championship match against Hazuki at Death Before Dishonor 2026.
Athena put her ROH Women’s World Championship on the line against Hazuki at the event, ultimately emerging victorious and extending her reign as champion.
Following the match, Athena responded on social media to a fan who shared a clip from the bout. The ROH Women’s World Champion revealed that she experienced an asthma attack in the middle of the match and praised AEW and Ring of Honor staff for quickly stepping in to assist her. She wrote,
“Yeah…. so ….had an asthma attack mid match…. glad my minions had my back!!! A major thank you to @aew @ringofhonor staff for the quick response… keeping the #ForeverROHChamp in peak condition”
Despite the health scare, Athena was able to finish the match and retain the ROH Women’s World Championship.
