AEW News: Jarrett’s Debut, Colt Cabana’s Return, Who Was Backstage

PWInsider reports that Jeff Jarrett was kept hidden backstage prior to appearing on television last night. Jarrett was flown into Washington D. C for the show, which filmed in Baltimore.

Tony Khan would go on to announce that Jarrett has been named as the Director of Business Development. Khan teased more live events in 2023, which could mean that AEW is planning more international dates. Jarrett has experience in this area, having worked in a similar capacity for Impact and WWE. Specifically, he was responsible for establishing the Ring Ka King and India TV deals. It’s expected that Jarrett will feud with Sting on-screen.

Colt Cabana’s return to the ring is expected to be a one-off. Cabana is still a member of the ROH roster. The moment was more meant to put Chris Jericho over an established ROH champion than it was to herald a regular AEW return for Cabana.
MJF was not backstage at last night’s show, but The Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) were.
