AEW Nearly Picked MJF/Jon Moxley For All In 2026 Main Event

Will Ospreay vs. Kenny Omega was not always the plan for the AEW All In 2026 main event.

During a recent interview with TVInsider, Ospreay admitted that AEW considered several other options before settling on this match.

With Wembley Stadium set to host the show on August 30, Ospreay revealed that AEW discussed different directions, including matches built around MJF or Jon Moxley, and even explored the idea of a multi-man match.

In the end, the choice came down to Ospreay and Omega, as both men have spent years claiming they represent the very best in the ring, so it only made sense for their rivalry to close out the show.

Ospreay also explained why this matchup feels different from every other All In main event so far. He noted that MJF vs. Adam Cole leaned on humor and personal chemistry, Bryan Danielson vs. Swerve Strickland told the story of The American Dragon chasing his biggest goal, and Hangman Page’s pursuit of Moxley centered on saving the company from the Death Riders.

However, this year, fans will finally see two of the most influential wrestlers of this generation settle who truly stands on top. Their rivalry has already turned personal, especially after Omega turned on Ospreay during Dynamite, adding real tension heading into their showdown at Wembley.
