AEW International Title Tournament Ends With TWO Challengers For Kenny Omega At Dynasty

The intention for the AEW International Championship Eliminator Tournament was to settle the one person who would go on to challenge Kenny Omega for the title at AEW Dynasty 2025—but the four-way match on AEW Dynamite ended in controversial fashion, and things are a little more complicated now.

That is because the four-way between Orange Cassidy, Ricochet, Mark Davis, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey ended with Bailey going for a pin on Davis, only for Ricochet to stack himself up on top of both of them to also join in on the pinfall.

The referee didn’t see that Ricochet also had his feet on the ropes, which should disqualify him for that win, but given the flexible rules of professional wrestling (where sometimes, referees can review footage, restart a match, or call something off, they also will just keep their decision as-is when that works for the storyline), instead of saying just Speedball won, it is now both of them who have been crowned the No. 1 contender.

Of course, the prophetic graphics department already had a three-way image ready to go for a scenario that logistically wouldn’t happen, as it was declared simply that Omega will face both Bailey and Ricochet at Dynasty.

What do you think about this Triple Threat situation? Does that upgrade the match, or would it be better if it were just one of them? Should this have resulted in Bailey vs. Ricochet in another match to settle who won, instead? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
